    Andrew Wright

    Winemaker at Lindo Wines

Growing up in suburban Phoenix, Andrew Wright knew nothing of wine. Inspired by a post college road trip through several of America’s lesser-known wine regions, he began his wine education at Tucson staples Plaza Liquors, Rum Runner, and AJ’s. Kent Callaghan graciously accepted his mediocre vineyard labor in 2010, and after a couple growing seasons helping at Callaghan and a harvest internship at Arizona Stronghold in 2011, Andrew decided to pursue a career in winemaking.

In 2012, Andrew moved to Napa Valley and worked in the vineyards and cellars of Harlan and BOND Estates, Promontory, and The Napa Valley Reserve until 2019. There, he assisted and participated in blending sessions with Consulting Winemaker Michel Rolland and Winemaking Director Bob Levy. In 2019 Andrew became Winemaker at Merryvale Vineyards, overseeing all aspects of winemaking and farming operations, working with Consulting Winemaker Philippe Melka on blends and vineyard strategies. In 2024 he started his own wine project, Lindo Wines, which will be released in 2025. He has participated in aspects of the winemaking of 24 wines scoring 95-100 (WA, Dunnuck). Andrew graduated with a History degree from the University of Arizona before studying winemaking at UC Davis.
